Unjust rivalry on the telephone services market
Do you know that there are exactly 60 seconds in one minute? But lately one of the IDT companies declared that most of companies, that provide phone cards, propose only 36 seconds in exchange of 60. According to the statement done by some IDT corporation, many calling card corporations are become a party in unjust rivalry. As different corporations-providers of prepaid phone cards resorted to the unfair competition procedures, IDT/UTA (Union Telecard Alliance) made a resolve to defend their privileges using the legal ways.
IDT/UTA had asserted that dissimilar its proper calling cards, those of many of their rivals supply just about 60 percent of the minutes of telecommunications services proposed and promoted on voice prompts heard by customers in connection with calls performed by using the cards of accused and advertised by these competitors on radio, newspaper, poster, internet, or other medium. In November 2007 Total Call International, Inc. and IDT/UTA have received a full resolution of the suit delivered by IDT Telecom, Inc. and Union Telecard Alliance, LLC against Total Call. It is the fourth group of accused that have resolved the enforcement proceedings initiated by IDT/UTA. Today there is a roll of another accused comprises about six corporations and some of them are: Epana Networks Inc., Dollar Phone Corp., etc.. That unfinished suit is being on approval in the federal court in Newark, New Jersey. Lately, one of softswitch manufacturers released his new terms of paying the telephone facilities. One of the characteristics he was proud of was the scope to set the length of the minute to any size. Another feature was to randomly deduct a minute from the account. Further, they said that those principles are not their discovery, but are the standards for all prepaid calling cards corporations. It is true, because having revised all the new advertising announces we can see the same information.
That means that the international phone card, which is purchased for $10.00, gives you 1000 minutes for conversations! But don't forget to select the calling card properly, and be assured that you get the quantity of minutes which you pay for. The companies, which have been involved into this story, engaged for returning the whole amount of minutes to their client as soon as possible. IDT/UTA believes that till all accused have consented to follow to that standard, it is profitable for the continued prosecution of that action to have a streamlined litigation with some defendants. To establish the level of paying field all the companies, that provide the telephone facilities have to further the best practices and standards. They agreed to evolve rules and systems for testing the exactness of disclosures and denials made in connection with pay beforehand calling cards. The participants also agreed to undertake efforts to promote such standards among all pay beforehand card services and to promote self-sufficient tracing of correspondence with such rules.
